the country and land full of sheep (and cows, some horses in some places) and beautiful birds

the stock tells 40 millions of sheep (and how many sheepdogs?), the country 6 millions of inhabitants (the most are living in Auckland, then in Wellington the "new" capital (after Auckland and Russell has been ones).
birds like the kiwi are very rare to see, I saw two of them in the kiwihouse of Rotorua, I was delighted about that! they are very shy ansd anxious, have very sensitive ears, do live at night in the forest, looking for insects in the ground.
Kiwi's aren't very looking like a bird, perhaps a chicken then, it cannot fly, but walk. They are very cude: round and big for a bird with a very long snavel (?).
A bird which paid us a visit on the camp is a blue one with a red bec, called Pukeko.
