Lees hier de petitie To Head of Government, Saad Eddine Al-Othmani The Honorable head of government of Morocco, Please allow me to express my concern about the detention of journalist Hajar Raissouni, which is a flagrant breach of her privacy and other human rights. On 31 August 2019, Raissouni and her fiancé were arrested outside a doctor’s clinic in Rabat, together with a doctor and two medical staff members. All five individuals face unfounded abortion related charges. According to Raissouni’s lawyer there is no evidence for abortion in the medical report. While in custody, Raissouni was interrogated about her political writings, one of her colleagues and about her uncle Ahmed Raissouni, a prominent theologist and the ex-president of the Mouvement de l'Unicité et de la Réforme. This information raises concerns that Raissouni’s arrest was politically motivated and related to her journalistic work.   I therefore ask you to immediately and unconditionally release Hajar Raissouni, her fiancé and all three other detainees in the case. I further call on you to reform laws that violate women’s rights, including the right to bodily and personal autonomy, non-discrimination, privacy and health. Marokko moet journalist vrijlaten die vastzit vanwege abortus Hajar Raissouni had net samen met haar verloofde het ziekenhuis verlaten, toen agenten in burger haar oppakten. Ze wordt beschuldigd van abortus, hoewel daar geen bewijs voor is. Bovendien is abortus een privézaak waar de overheid zich niet mee moet bemoeien. De echte reden voor Hajars arrestatie is waarschijnlijk dat de autoriteiten haar willen straffen voor kritische artikelen die ze schreef. Ook Hajars verloofde, de arts en twee assistenten zijn opgepakt. Roep Marokko op de aanklachten tegen Hajar Raissouni en de anderen onmiddellijk in te trekken en hen vrij te laten. In Marokko is abortus verboden, tenzij het leven van de vrouw in gevaar is of een getrouwde vrouw toestemming krijgt van haar echtgenoot. De Marokkaanse overheid moet hoognodig stappen zetten om de abortuswet te versoepelen. Vrouwen hebben het recht om zelf beslissingen te nemen over hun lichaam. Teken de petitie!
